The 3rd Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) 2018 which was titled “Cooperation to Response Disaster and Humanitarian Issues” was officially opened by Indonesian Chief of Navy (CON) Admiral Ade Supandi, SE, MAP, located at Port of Sheets, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Saturday (05/05/2018).
Indonesian CON when opening the activity said that, “Joint training between countries took focus on handling natural disasters and humanitarian issues. Basically, this exercise is to foster the strength of the Navy, but it also relates to the implementation of the Navy’s diplomacy function, as well as in the context of building a maritime culture because Indonesia is a large maritime country,“.
In the MNEK 2018 series not only joint training, but also held a series of other activities such as the Medical Civic Action Project (MEDCAP) and the Engineering Civic Action Project (ENCAP) which were carried out in two implementation sectors namely in Lombok and Nusa Penida, Harbour and Sea phase, City Parade, Maritime Exhibition, Culinary, Mataram Fun Run, City Tour, and Sports along with all participating navies of the participating countries.
